I’d like to start this post off by saying sorry for not posting last week!!!! That’s just life and sometimes things happen and you get extra busy. However there’s good news! You’re reading this which means I posted.. Yay! Anyway back to this post since that’s clearly what you came here for.
So, the good ole bucket list… I’m not sure who doesn’t have such a list these days whether they call it a bucket list or something else. Here’s a fascinating destination for you to add to your list! The ice hotel in Quebec City, it is truly unique and should not be missed! Every year as the cold weather comes, this hotel is built completely out of ice and snow. When spring blows around it all melts and they start all over again the next winter.
Starting from scratch every year means a brand new design! This year’s theme is the Northern Perspective or Nordic Experience. The cool thing is, if sleeping in a room made of ice isn’t your fancy you can just take a tour. This years Ice Hotel closes March 26. So hurry and book your stay or tour before it all melts away! Or just catch it next year.. you could do that too.
They have 44 suites and rooms ranging from plain snow walls and a bed, to artistic designs of animals and such carved in to the walls. There is a spa and they even have a chapel for weddings, now that’d be quite an experience! It has a couple bars where they serve you in a glass made of ice as well. On one of the tours available for booking, they take you behind the scenes and teach you to make these ice glasses yourself.
We took our ice glass home and its currently sitting in the freezer lopsided from melting a little on the drive home. If you want to know of other things to do in Quebec city check out my post about Winter Carnival or the French Inspired town. I hope you decide to add this Hotel to your bucket list whether you sleep there or take a tour. Its really awesome and mind blowing! If you plan to go or have been let me know in the comments!
Thanks to Quebec Region for hosting our stay in Quebec City. Despite being hosted all opinions are 100% honest and my own. I truly enjoyed this trip very much! None of the above links are affiliate links.
